THE CHALLENGE: Local advertising on major cable stations is getting much more affordable for businesses. For example, in Charter Communications' service area, advertisers can get their commercial on stations like TNN, TNT, CNN, HGTV, Discovery and MTV for as little as $500 per month. What used to sink the production of these spots was the cost of filming and editing them. With Beta you had to have a huge crew to do lighting, sound and such. But digital video allows a small crew to shoot and edit on the fly, lowering the cost of production while allowing us to edit and re-edit over and over again without any loss of quality. THE SOLUTION: To spur participation in these co-op spots, CommuniCreations developed wraps that tied three very different spots for local advertisers into a single campaign geared at promoting tourism in downtown Port Orchard. We did all aspects of production, from shooting to editing and narration. The QuickTime version will play automatically if you have it (if not, get it here). You can also view the RealPlayer and MediaPlayer versions but they'll open as separate windows in the respective players. THE RESULTS: The wraps provided advertisers with a very low cost entry into television advertising on the local level. The initial wraps were so successful that CommuniCreations developed similar ones for all the seasons, covering Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. They continue to be used by area advertisers.
