PUBLIC RELATIONS

The term "public relations" was first used by President Thomas Jefferson in 1807. Imagine that! A politician using public relations. Seems a bit revolutionary, doesn't it? *

Since then, practitioners of the craft have been called by many names, some not so flattering: flacks come to mind.

At CommuniCreations, we don't wrap public relations all up in fancy lingo and sell it to you with a set of smoke and mirrors. In short, we try to get the media to write about your business, your services and your products. We find newsworthy angles and convince reporters and editors to cover them online, in print and on TV and radio.

How we do that may involve a little smoke and a of couple mirrors, true. But you don't need to worry about them. That's our job.

Our PR folks work with media throughout the U.S. We have really good rapport with a lot of top-notch reporters and they trust us to provide them with news they can use to fill newspaper inches and airtime.

No matter what anyone tells you; it's a symbiotic relationship too. There are only so many news stories out there to cover. News releases, press kits, feature articles or pitches, PSAs and such, make their job easier since they don't have to constantly chase down stories. They don't have to find you - you get to find them.

Think of PR like advertising you don't have to pay for. It's more like edvertising - “editorial content” that works like “advertising”.

But don't we don't want to make it sound easy. It's not. It's an art form because reporters don't like advertising or marketing. They like news. They don't like fluff. And if they get too much from you that's not news you end up being ignored.

That's where our PR professionals have the edge in the marketplace. We have hard-nosed news hounds that are now working the other side. They know what news is and isn't. They speak the language of reporters. They know how to get a story noticed and covered. And they know how to get you the exposure you need and deserve.

* Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.
