mousesurplus.com redesign

We have completed some refinements of your design. There are two versions right now of the same direction, the one that uses the white "eared" background.

As you'll see the navigation is on the left side, tucked under the logo. When built as a working page, these buttons will change from the purple color to the red. The site uses a palette that is very Disney, the white, black, red and some accent colors, primarily purple. As you'll see, we also found some great fonts that should further branding we're trying to create.

In all versions, the images on the right will sequence through some of the products. You'll be able to see that in the .gif version of the second incarnation.

Now for the two sites...

Both versions are very similar, as we said. This one uses a Magic Kingdom turret motif to highlight the Forums, Shopping and News along the bottom of the page. Comp 2a takes a different approach, showing products that were recently handled by MouseSurplus. This option pushes the sales aspect more, obviously.

The logo is a variation of what we spoke about in our meeting. We added some hairlines to the ears to further delineate the logo from the Disney folks. And we flattened the aspect of the ears a bit to make the logo compact. The font is reminiscent of the Disney World logo, but done in a downstyle font to make it informal, lighthearted and friendly.

That should do it for now.

Take a look at the versions, watch the animation in the comp2a.gif to see how the images shift (Note: the images will look much better than the animated sample - there are limits to images done in comps that aren't a problem in developing a real working web site. Also, these images can, of course, be changed over time fairly easily by you, using a product like Macromedia's Contribute.

Once you've taken a look we can talk about the site and refine it or start over from scratch :).
